Bruckner's Truck & Equipment is seeking a dedicated Service Writer/Support professional to join our team in Salina, Kansas. This full-time position plays a vital role in ensuring seamless service operations for our customers who rely on commercial trucks and heavy equipment. As a Service Writer, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, managing work orders, providing estimates, and ensuring that all repairs are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where customer satisfaction is paramount. Key Responsibilities include greeting customers and accurately documenting vehicle concerns, creating detailed service work orders using company software systems, providing cost estimates and repair timelines to customers, coordinating with technicians to ensure work progresses according to schedule, maintaining clear communication with customers throughout the repair process, processing warranty claims and following up on parts orders, reviewing completed work orders for accuracy before customer pickup, and maintaining a clean and organized service department workspace. Required Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, previous experience in automotive, truck, or equipment service writing preferred, strong computer skills with ability to learn new software quickly, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and basic understanding of vehicle systems and terminology. Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a customer-focused attitude. Essential Skills for success include proficiency in service management software, knowledge of heavy-duty truck components, strong problem-solving capabilities, time management expertise, and the ability to explain technical information in customer-friendly terms.
