Dane Street is seeking an experienced Medical Ophthalmologist to join our healthcare team in Santa Clara, California. This physician position involves providing comprehensive eye care services to patients while supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional medical outcomes. The Medical Ophthalmologist will be responsible for conducting thorough eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, and developing appropriate treatment plans for patients. Key responsibilities include managing chronic eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration; prescribing medications and therapeutic interventions; interpreting diagnostic imaging results; and maintaining detailed patient records in accordance with medical standards. The physician will also participate in quality improvement initiatives and may provide guidance to clinical support staff.
Qualified candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree with completion of an accredited ophthalmology residency program. Board certification in ophthalmology is required, along with an active and unrestricted California medical license. A minimum of three years of clinical experience in medical ophthalmology is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with electronic health record systems.
Essential skills for this position include advanced knowledge of ocular anatomy and pathology, expertise in diagnostic procedures such as fundus photography and optical coherence tomography, and the ability to manage complex medical cases. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction, attention to detail for accurate documentation, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
