Providence Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Night Shift ICU Nurse to join our intensive care unit team in Kansas City, Kansas. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional critical care to patients during overnight hours in a state-of-the-art medical facility. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care during the most vulnerable hours of the day. Key Responsibilities include monitoring and assessing critically ill patients, administering medications and treatments as prescribed, operating and maintaining life-support equipment, responding to medical emergencies and code situations, documenting patient conditions and care interventions accurately, communicating effectively with patients' families regarding care plans and progress, collaborating with day shift staff during handoffs and care transitions, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory requirements. The nurse will also be responsible for mentoring new staff members and contributing to a positive team environment. Required Qualifications for this position include an active Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred, current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications, and a minimum of two years of intensive care unit nursing experience. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure. Essential Skills required for success in this role include advanced critical thinking abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in electronic health record systems, strong organizational and time management capabilities, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
