Full Description
Job Overview
Perlman Clinic, a leader in innovative primary and specialty care, is expanding its remote telehealth services with an exciting opportunity for a Sleep Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP). This full-time position allows you to work from anywhere, delivering high-quality care to patients with sleep disorders via secure virtual platforms. Join our mission to improve lives through accessible, patient-centered medicine in the dynamic field of sleep health.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will conduct comprehensive virtual assessments of patients experiencing sleep issues such as insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including prescribing CPAP therapy, medications, and lifestyle interventions. Collaborate with physicians, interpret sleep study results like polysomnograms, and provide follow-up care to monitor progress and adjust therapies. Educate patients on sleep hygiene and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for complex cases. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with HIPAA and telemedicine regulations.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Nursing (for NPs) or Physician Assistant studies, with current national certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA) and an active, unrestricted state license (multi-state compact preferred for remote work). A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in sleep medicine, pulmonology, or primary care is required. Proficiency in telehealth platforms and familiarity with sleep diagnostics are essential.
Skills
Strong diagnostic abilities, excellent patient communication, and empathy are crucial for building rapport in virtual settings. Technical proficiency with EHR systems like Epic or Cerner, video conferencing tools, and sleep analysis software is necessary. You should possess critical thinking skills for remote decision-making, knowledge of current sleep medicine guidelines from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently while prioritizing patient safety.
