Job Overview
Cengage is seeking a dynamic Gale K12 Field Sales Consultant to cover the states of Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas in a remote capacity. This full-time role focuses on promoting Gale's innovative digital learning solutions to K-12 schools, districts, and educational institutions. As a key member of our sales team, you will leverage your passion for education and sales expertise to drive revenue growth, foster long-term partnerships, and empower educators with cutting-edge resources that enhance student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
You will prospect and develop new business opportunities within assigned territories, conducting virtual and in-person meetings with school administrators, curriculum directors, and decision-makers. Responsibilities include delivering compelling product demonstrations, customizing solutions to meet specific district needs, negotiating contracts, and closing sales to meet and exceed quarterly quotas. Additionally, you will maintain accurate CRM records, analyze market trends to identify growth areas, collaborate with marketing and customer success teams, and provide ongoing support to ensure customer satisfaction and renewals. Travel within AR, MO, and KS will be required for key events, trade shows, and client visits, approximately 30-50% of the time.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in education, business, marketing, or a related field is required, along with at least 3-5 years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably in K-12 education or EdTech. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a field sales environment is essential. Familiarity with K-12 curriculum standards, SIS systems, and educational technology is highly desirable. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel regionally as needed.
Skills
Exceptional communication and presentation skills are critical, with the ability to articulate complex product benefits clearly to diverse audiences. Strong relationship-building abilities, strategic thinking, and resilience in a competitive sales landscape are key. Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual meeting platforms like Zoom is required. Analytical skills for territory management and forecasting, combined with a customer-centric mindset, will set you apart. Self-motivation and adaptability in a remote work setting are vital.
