Job Overview
Victory Toyota of Midtown, a premier dealership in the heart of Chicago, Illinois, is seeking an experienced General Sales Manager to oversee all sales operations and propel our business to new heights. This full-time leadership role offers the opportunity to manage a high-performing team in a fast-paced retail automotive setting, focusing on Toyota vehicle sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability. As GSM, you will report directly to the General Manager and play a pivotal role in achieving dealership targets while fostering a customer-centric culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals through effective coaching, training, and performance management. Develop and implement sales strategies, including pricing, promotions, and inventory management to optimize gross profit margins. Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation and customer consultations to closing deals, financing, and delivery, ensuring a seamless experience. Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to refine approaches and maintain a competitive edge. Collaborate with service, parts, and finance departments to maximize customer retention and upsell opportunities. Manage the sales floor, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and disciplinary actions as needed. Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and manufacturer standards, including accurate CRM documentation and advertising regulations. Handle escalated customer issues with professionalism to uphold the dealership's reputation.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years in automotive sales management, with proven success in a dealership environment. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. In-depth knowledge of Toyota products, financing options, and industry software such as Dealertrack or Reynolds & Reynolds.
