Job Overview
The Regional Sales Representative (Mid-West) position at Henkel is responsible for promoting and selling advanced wastewater treatment products and solutions throughout the Midwestern United States. Based in Chicago, Illinois, this contract role requires a motivated sales professional who can develop and expand market presence in the industrial and municipal wastewater sectors. The representative will work independently to identify customer needs, deliver tailored technical recommendations, and drive revenue growth while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market share for Henkel’s wastewater treatment portfolio across the Mid-West territory. Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and participation in industry events. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential customers including industrial facilities, municipalities, and engineering firms. Conduct product presentations, technical demonstrations, and site assessments to effectively communicate the value of Henkel solutions. Collaborate with internal technical and marketing teams to prepare customized proposals and respond to customer inquiries. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategy and product development recommendations. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while maintaining accurate records in the company CRM system. Represent Henkel at trade shows, conferences, and regional industry meetings to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or a related technical field is preferred. Minimum of three years of proven sales experience in the water treatment, chemical, or environmental services industry. Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a regional territory. Strong technical understanding of wastewater treatment processes and chemical applications. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Mid-West region.
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with strong presentation skills. Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities. Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving capabilities. Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate technical product features into clear business benefits.
