Job Overview
Recology, a leader in sustainable waste management and recycling services, is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative 1 to join our team in California. In this full-time position, you will be the first point of contact for our valued customers, providing professional support, resolving inquiries, and promoting our commitment to environmental stewardship. Key Responsibilities
Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, and online portals, addressing concerns related to billing, service schedules, recycling guidelines, and waste collection. Accurately document all interactions in our customer relationship management (CRM) system to ensure seamless follow-up and resolution. Educate customers on sustainable practices, such as proper sorting for recycling and composting programs, to enhance service efficiency and compliance. Collaborate with operations teams to escalate complex issues, schedule service adjustments, and process special requests like bulk pickups or container deliveries. Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction by actively listening, empathizing, and offering tailored solutions while upholding company policies.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in business, communications, or related field preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience, ideally in utilities, environmental services, or call center environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel, and familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce or similar platforms. Excellent command of English, both written and verbal; bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus given our diverse California customer base. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling 50+ calls per day with composure and accuracy.
