Sysco is looking for a Sales Consultant to join our team in Grand Island, Nebraska. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing customer accounts in the foodservice industry. The Sales Consultant will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing expert guidance on our extensive product portfolio including fresh produce, proteins, pantry items, and equipment solutions. Success in this position requires a strong understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics within the foodservice distribution sector. The consultant will work closely with internal teams including operations, customer service, and marketing to deliver exceptional value and support to every account. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both customer success and company growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include prospecting and acquiring new customers through cold calling, networking, and referrals while nurturing existing relationships to increase order frequency and basket size. The role involves conducting regular customer visits to assess needs, introduce new products, and resolve any service issues promptly. Sales Consultants will prepare and present compelling proposals, negotiate pricing and contracts, and consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets. They will also maintain accurate customer records in the CRM system, track sales activities, and provide market intelligence to leadership regarding competitor activity and emerging customer preferences. Building strong partnerships with vendors and internal stakeholders is essential to ensure product availability and timely deliveries for all accounts. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous sales experience in foodservice, distribution, or related industries strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate proven ability to meet sales quotas and grow revenue within an assigned territory. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational abilities, time management skills, and the capacity to work independently while managing multiple priorities. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this field-based role.
