Full Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Emergency Department team in Gypsum, Kansas. This full-time role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare setting. The successful candidate will work alongside physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure efficient and effective treatment for patients presenting with a wide range of acute and urgent conditions.
Key Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, diagnosing illnesses and injuries, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and performing minor procedures as needed. The provider will also be responsible for developing treatment plans, educating patients and families about care instructions, and collaborating with the broader care team to ensure continuity of care. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential in this role.
Required Qualifications for this position include an active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Kansas, along with national certification from an accredited body. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in emergency medicine or a related acute care setting. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, and PALS certification is preferred.
Essential Skills for success in this role include excellent clinical judgment, effective communication, proficiency with electronic medical records, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience with trauma care, wound management, and procedural skills such as suturing and splinting is highly valued.
