Job Overview: The Strategic Sourcing Manager, Marketing at The Home Depot is a pivotal role within our procurement organization, focused on developing and executing sourcing strategies for marketing-related spend categories, including advertising, creative services, promotions, and digital media. This position partners closely with marketing, finance, and operations teams to deliver cost savings, risk mitigation, and innovation in supplier partnerships, ensuring alignment with the company's customer-centric growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing processes, from market analysis and RFx development to supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management for marketing vendors. Collaborate with marketing leaders to understand business needs, forecast spend, and identify opportunities for total cost of ownership reductions and value creation. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, conduct supplier performance reviews, and implement category strategies that drive innovation and sustainability. Analyze spend data using advanced tools to uncover insights, mitigate risks such as supply disruptions, and ensure compliance with procurement policies. Support cross-functional projects, including new product launches and digital transformation initiatives, while mentoring junior team members on best practices in strategic sourcing.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred. Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, with at least 3 years focused on marketing or professional services categories. Proven track record of delivering multi-million-dollar savings through strategic initiatives. Experience in retail or consumer goods industry is highly desirable.
Skills: Expertise in procurement technologies such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar platforms; strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Tableau, or Power BI for spend analytics. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities; deep knowledge of marketing vendor landscapes including agencies, media buyers, and production firms. Strategic mindset with project management skills (PMP certification a plus); ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
