Job Overview JBG SMITH, a leading real estate investment and management company, is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team at 1221 Van, a vibrant mixed-use property in downtown Washington, DC. In this full-time role, you will serve as the first point of contact for tenants, residents, and visitors, ensuring seamless operations and high satisfaction levels in a dynamic urban environment. As a key member of our property management team, you will contribute to creating welcoming and efficient spaces that define JBG SMITH's commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities Greet visitors and tenants warmly upon arrival, directing them to appropriate locations and providing information about amenities and services. Handle inbound inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, resolving issues related to leasing, maintenance requests, parking, and general property information with speed and accuracy. Process service requests, coordinate with maintenance and security teams to address concerns promptly, and maintain detailed logs of all interactions for quality assurance. Assist with administrative tasks such as distributing mail/packages, scheduling tours, and updating resident directories. Promote property events and services to enhance tenant engagement, while upholding safety protocols and company policies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support special projects, vendor coordination, and community-building initiatives. Monitor front desk areas for security and cleanliness, reporting any incidents to management immediately. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in business, hospitality, or related field preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience, ideally in property management, retail, or hospitality settings. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and approachable demeanor. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with property management software like Yardi or AppFolio is a plus. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Skills Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities to de-escalate situations effectively. Strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities and maintaining accurate records. Tech-savvy with quick adaptability to new systems and tools.
